The Classics Society at Exeter University is a vibrant group of students with a passion for the Ancient World. The Society provides a means by which students can socialise, get involved with exciting projects, and further their academic interests. The Classics Society have a history of offering the very best to their members, from the chance to perform in their annual play to the annual trip to a Classical site, as well as fun and varied social and academic events throughout the year.
We run a Classics Parenting Scheme to connect fresh first-years (also open to new Masters and PhD students if they want to get involved!) with current students in a ‘family’ environment to help make the transition to university education as easy as possible. We also offer a Greek and Latin tutoring scheme, run for and by students, organised by our Department Liaison Officer, Elena Quigley.
For 2018/19, the Classics Society is more committed than ever to deliver the best possible experience to their members. As such, we are looking forward to hosting two debates, quizzes, staff-student film nights and football matches, organising a trip abroad and much more!
We know that with our extremely dedicated committee, this year will be a great success!
